Okay, so last week, I was listening to KSBJ when I heard the testimony of a listener. He was saying that he was having a hard time with a situation in which he had no control. He decided that there was only one thing he could change about the situation and that was his attitude. I was actually in the middle of a situation that I too had no control of and I decided maybe this is what the Lord is trying to say to me, the only thing I could change was my attitude. I prayed as I was driving down the road that I would have a better attitude and when situations arose that I had no control over, I would change put my efforts into changing my attitude vs. changing the situation. . .
Well let me just say, SATAN has had a field day with this one!! Since that little car ride our A/C has gone out, we are dealing with Brian's throat situation, our dog was injured, running up a very large vet bill AND. . . tonight, we got the call every parent of a 16 year old dreads, but knows is coming, Emily got in her first fender bender!! Oh, and she couldn't have backed into the 1978 dodge pickup truck, oh no, she had to nail the new BMW parked right beside it. Tonight, I just started laughing, I mean what else can I do, the only thing I can change is my attitude, right?? I just keep reminding myself. . ."Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." ~1 Thess 5:18. And, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." ~James 1:2-4
All this to say. . .we would appreciate your prayers.
Oh, and please remind me to be careful what I pray for!! ;-)
May you have a blessed week,
~Connie
